About Us

Hello, we are Debs, Simon, Jess & Jamie.

We first came up with the idea of a teardrop housing a wood fired oven whilst scouring a ‘businesses for sale in Surrey’ website back in 2015.

We saw a business for sale and although we loved the concept and thought we could make a successful business, we didn’t think that that particular van was for us.

Our good friend Chris Haddon, author of the ‘My Cool…’ series put us in touch with Lyn & Richard Stark of The English Caravan Company and that is where our exciting journey began…

We commissioned Lyn & Richard to create a beautiful and bespoke teardrop caravan housing a wood fired oven using inheritance money that was left to us by a close relative and in her memory we have nicknamed our little van, ‘Patsy’. We took delivery of our teardrop in April and had a small ‘soft launch’ party in May 2016. We then began trading in September 2016.

Since then, we have been busy developing our brand further and have traded at numerous local festivals and events, along with growing our weddings and private parties.

We are delighted to be one of the four catering partners at Gildings Barns, situated in Newdigate, Surrey. We also have affiliations with Wildflower Weddings and Events and most recently with Architectural Plants in Pulborough who have just started offering weddings.

The beauty of being mobile, however is that we can come to you so if you have a special event in mind, contact us for a bespoke quote.

We have a regular pitch in Brockham village on Wednesday evenings.

With all this growth, we decided to commission a second van which again was built by Lyn & Richard. ‘Mo’ our beautiful shepherd’s hut joined us in December 2019. ‘Mo’ is named in memory of Debs’ mum who passed away in 2017.

‘Mo’ is currently situated at Priory Farm in South Nutfield, Surrey where we have our take-out Shepherd’s Hut Café, operating six days a week, serving fresh coffee, wood fired pizzas, kids pizza boxes, fresh handmade cakes and more…

Everything from from tasty wood fired pizzas to vintage style afternoon tea.

Fantastic freshly prepared pizzas cooked in the sweet tear drop caravan – the new Brockham start up. Delicious!

Just had our first pizza from The Wood Fired Larder and to quote my daughter, it was the best pizza she has ever tasted.

The best pizza we have ever tasted - and loveliest little helpers too. Will be back again, everyone should book The Wood Fired Larder.

Thanks for such brilliant food! Was hoping to rely on leftover pizza today but they hardly left us any! All went down a treat.
